I joined as a Trainee Software Engineer and progressed through four levels in five years: Trainee (2016-17) → SWE-I (2017-19) → SWE-II (2019-21) → Senior SWE-I (2021).
Responsibilities
Took ownership of multiple internal .NET applications end to end, both functional and technical. Built workflow applications from scratch, set up CI/CD pipelines from the ground up, designed and tuned SQL Server schemas, configured IIS and deployment environments, automated recurring jobs, and mentored interns and junior engineers.

SLD: Subcon Lot Disposition
Microchip’s subcontractors were processing lot dispositions over email. It was slow, manual, and error-prone.
I built the replacement from scratch: an approval-based workflow application on K2 SmartForms + K2 Workflows + C# + Swagger APIs, with ADFS/SSO handling authentication for both internal employees and external subcontractor users, two very different trust boundaries in one application.
It became the standard tool Microchip’s subcontractors use to process lot dispositions, replacing a process that took two to three days per lot. It is still in production five years later.
TFS → Azure DevOps Migration & CI/CD
All work items were locked in TFS, with no CI/CD gates or quality checks before deployment.
I migrated the work items, queries, areas, and iterations to Azure DevOps using the Nkdagility migration tool, then stood up full CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
Every developer commit now flows through a standard software lifecycle, including SonarQube code-analysis gating before anything reaches deployment.
DataViewer Performance
Teams were defaulting back to the Baan Client, and its licence cost, because the free intranet alternative was too slow to use.
DataViewer let teams view PDC (Product Data Characteristic) data without a Baan Client install, but its pages were slow enough that people gave up on it. I fixed table indexes across 7-8 modules and brought page loads down to 2-3 seconds.
Teams could finally use the intranet tool as intended, saving substantial Baan licence costs.
Other Work
.NET Core modernisation. Rewrote legacy .NET applications into modern .NET Core (2.0-3.1), and led the POC for Microchip’s partner-facing applications using Kendo UI components (Grid, multi-select, cascaded dropdowns) bound to dynamic and static data, handling control events end to end.
Distributor Partner Portal automation. Automated revenue-recognition processing by ingesting and validating Inventory files uploaded by distributors against pre-defined business rules, eliminating human intervention on the routine path and speeding up revenue-recognition cycles.
Scheduled jobs and database ownership. Built multiple Quartz-scheduled jobs for auto-notifications, bulk data updates, and automated user-request processing. Owned database design, modelling, and ongoing maintenance for the underlying SQL Server schemas (2013-2018).
Deployment environments. Stood up IIS 7 environments from scratch: virtual directories, hosted applications, and HTTPS bindings with server certificates. Also automated repeatable deployment workflows, removing a chronic bottleneck for new environment provisioning.
Mentoring. Mentored interns and junior engineers, ran peer code reviews, and completed Microchip’s P0 Leadership Training. Recognised twice for impact: Best Performer of the Quarter (Q4 2016) and Best Performer of the Year (2019).
